Trouble with Radeon 9200

When I try to play any graphic orientated game on my computer such as Need for speed: most wanted, I cant turn up the graphics or resolution any more than minimum before it starts slowing down to about 5fps. I feel like i've tried everything and I now I need some professional help. I am using...

Home built computer with..

MSI 865PE Neo2-P Motherboard (brand new)
Pentium 4 Proccessor
Radeon 9200 256mb video card
Two sticks of Kingston 512mb ram
120gb Texas Instruments hard drive
Windows XP Pro
400 - 500ish watt power supply

I've installed both the driver and the other little program that the ATI website said to download for the driver.

i am at my wits end please help. thank you in advanve.

I have Radeon Xpress 200 (which is based on the X300's core) and I only run NFS:MW with minimum settings, and all the video thrills turned off. In fact, I downloaded the optimizer and turned off even the blur effect.
