trouble with OpenOffice2.3 save as command

Feb 1, 2008 1:17PM PST

This is really mysrterious. I've got the exact same program, OpenOffice 2.3, on two computers (both Windows XP professional SP2), and on one of them, the "save as" command will allow me to save a file as a Word doc, but on the other computer, the "save as type" is greyed out, only allowing me to save a file as an open office document (*.odt). I've reinstalled the program twice now, after uninstalling and removing all traces (that I can find) of the program. Why on earth can I only save as a word doc on one computer's copy of OpenOffice, and not the other? If anyone knows, please clue me in!
Thanks, Taz
