Question

Trouble with HP laptop

Jul 24, 2016 9:03PM PDT

My HP laptop hard drive crashed ,G42 with OS Windows Home basic ,7 64 bits had crashed
and I installed window 7 prof 32 bits ,since recovery for my laptop isn't available.
But some of my devices like webcam, sound recorder and wi-fi are not working.
I had purchased my laptop in Oct 2010.When I contacted HP, they told me that they are unable to provide me with an RCD,
since my laptop is outdated. Is there anyway to fix this issue?

Clarification Request
I owned the G62 and recovery

Was done with a set of DVDs that I made when I unpacked the laptop. Later we moved similar PCs to Windows 10 since that was a nice step forward and the recovery media is easy to make with Microsoft's Media Creation kit.

It sounds like you got 6 years without preparing for the usual PC crash. This is how most find out they forgot to make media or do a full backup.

So, exits? Install Linux if you just need to get on the web, do documents, etc.
Or order up Windows.

Recovery

That machine may have a recovery partition on the hdd.
Check you manual as to how to access it.

If you can get that to function and restore the system to factory condition then look into creating factory restore media and tuck those disc away.

Unfortunately the original recovery too has been erased. When I press F11 it says Recovery, but then it launches windows.I think I need to obtain a new installation CD .
