Jul 28, 2009 10:44AM PDT

I am having problems connecting to Mycokerewards.com. It is saying can't connect try again later. so i finally hear from coke and they are saying to update my adobe flash. I did. did the cookie thing etc. coke has a new website and I haven't been able to connect to it. I have before. they are telling me to ask adobe and I haven't heard back from them. why would I be able to connect before, but not now?
I have model # 6330us windows xp explorer 8.
this may not be the forum to even ask the question, but I figure it couldn't hurt.

Try another browser,
Jul 28, 2009 8:57PM PDT

eg Firefox, Chrome, Safari, etc.

I'm there at Mycokerewards.com now with Firefox and it seems to work OK.

If you want to try again with IE8, try Adobe's Uninstaller, then reboot the computer, and re-download and install the Flash player plugin.

Does that help?

TRY ANOTHER BROWSER
Jul 29, 2009 10:49AM PDT

Hi Mark,
I did as you suggested and I still can't put in my codes. I get this message There is a connection issue right now. Please try your code again in just a little while. It keeps telling me a problem connecting. I am about to give up.
thank you so much for your help. I had no problem until Coke changed their website.

You must first uninstall you old adobe flash player first. Go here to get the uninstaller first, http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html Then after you uninstall the old Adobe flash player, install the newer version (Adobe 10) and you should be good to go son..I had the same problum and uninstall the old and install the newer verson 10. worked for me..Silly)

Adobe Flash

thank you for your help. I did uninstall Adobe Flash and reinstalled Adobe Flash 10 and it is still not allowing me to put in my points on My Coke Rewards. I am not sure what else to do. I did see something on Tv today about Adobe having a hole in the Flash and it was repaired.

I'm not sure what else we can suggest.

The page displays fine for me, but since I am not a member, I cannot check the login.

What other options?

1] Try another computer.

2] Try another internet connection, either with this computer, or another computer.

3] Do you have a firewall installed? If so, which one? The firewalls I know would stop a browser from connecting to the internet, but if those browsers are allowed access, the firewalls would not then prevent browser components from connecting. However, may be some firewalls are able to do this.

4] Any error messages? If you can display the web page, but cannot enter any details, what does that mean? Are you prevented from typing, or once the details are typed in, and you click Send/Submit, what happens then?

5] Can you log in to your account? If not, what happens?

Hi Mark,
thank you for all of your help.
I decided to go into manage my add ons and enabled something that looked interesting and then I downloaded the Silverlight Accelerator and now it will allow me to put in my points. go figure.
thank you for all of your help, I really appreciate it.
next time I will ask just what I programs I actually need on this computer. I see microsoft this and that and I am afraid to delete them.
Have a wonderful day. you did a good thing.

Excellent!

Well done Linda. Very good work.

So it was Silverlight was it? This is Microsoft's answer to Adobe's Flash, but the web site administrators really need to get the act together and ensure their members understand what is needed, instead of suggesting that they need version 8 of Flash

But congratulations in working this out yourself. We always like those results. Happy

Try This As Well...

Because the Windows Script Engine and Java can also play parts in such things, please follow the steps below to install the newest of both items.

First, download the newest Windows Script Engine for XP SP2 or earlier from the link below and install it.(XP SP3 installs a newer version so if you've got SP3 installed, skip this step and install Java below.)

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=47809025-D896-482E-A0D6-524E7E844D81&displaylang=en

Next, download and install the newest version of Sun Java using the instructions below:

Click on the link to Sun's Java below, then scroll down and click on the ''Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE)-JRE 6 Update 14'' download button. Follow the prompts, select the Windows platform and the "Language", accept the license agreement, then download the full ''Windows OFFLINE Installation'' file to your desktop,(about 15 MB), scan it with your antivirus (just to be sure it's clean). Once that's done, if you've already got a Sun Java version on the computer, open the Control Panel, double click on the ''Add/Remove Programs'' section, then uninstall all previous versions of the J2SE Java listed there. Once that's done, then install Java JRE 6u14 from the downloaded installer.

Hope this helps.
