Trouble with Activation

May 26, 2005 9:22PM PDT

Ok, I started encountering this problem just yesterday. I found myself switching my monitor earlier this week and XP began prompting me to reactive Windows. Several times, I clicked on the keys that would appear in my taskbar, but nothing else would happen.

Anyway, the activation period ended and now I'm locked out. Everytime I get into the log-in screen, clicking on one on my computer's accounts will yield if I'd like to reactive. I click "Yes", but for some reason, I'm brought back to the log-on screen. What do I do? Would changing my monitor again yield another activation perior or not?

And if anyone asks, I'm typing this on another computer. Happy

When this happens,

You get the phone number to call and call it in. It varies with the country, but you must call it in to reactivate it.

Well...

Thank you for the suggestion, but I don't think that's the problem at hand. I receive the prompt at the log-in screen after clicking one of my accounts. Clicking yes or no just logs me out and takes me out to the login screen again.

Come to think of it, trying to activate while I still had access to my PC wouldn't begin activation either.

Now I need clarification.

If it shows that you need to activate it, then you call and they help you do that. Not a big deal.

-> If this is some other failure and you were guessing it needed activation but instead it just logs you out, then that is an entirely different animal.

Which issue are you having?
