Trouble viewing WII Virtual Console games

Nov 3, 2010 11:14AM PDT

I am having trouble playing my newly downloaded NES Super Mario Bros game. When I hit start, the screen goes black and a message pops up "Not Supported". I can see the home menu. I live in the US.

squeaks2828,

What is the output resolution of your console games?

Not sure exactly. The Wii is set to a Screen resolution of 480i. I don't see any other screen options that would change resolution or anything like that. I tried a number of things through the Wii Birtual Console website and it seem like the problem is originating from the TV.

Thanks, I already tried to change the resolution of the Wii. Only the 480i button is lit, I cannot click on the 480p button. We have the game console running through a receiver and then to the TV. I haven't connected the game directly to the TV yet to see if its issues with the receiver.

Do you have a component wire or are you just using the standard composite wire?
