Question

Trouble syncing phone to USB in Mercury Mariner

I just purchased a 2009 Mercury Mariner that comes with a built in USB in the console. I took it home the other night to test drive, plugged in my iPhone 6 via the USB port, pressed the aux button and listened to a podcast.

I turned off the car and unplugged my phone. When I got back in, I tried to plug my phone back in and it would not play anything through my speakers. It is charging as if it is connected, but won't play anything through the speakers. Radio and everything else works fine. I don't have an auxiliary cable so I cannot test to see if that works okay.

I work at the dealership I am buying it from, so I can easily see what they say. But I'm hoping this is an easy fix? Thank you!
