AV-input to consumer camcorders went away with miniDV (digital tape) based camcorders. Even then, not all miniDV tape based camcorders had AV-in capability.
Neither the GZ-E300 nor the GZ-V500 have AV-in according to the manuals available form JVC's support area...

Typically, use of a "analog/digital converter" or capture card connected to (or installed inside) the computer is suggested. Depending on your computer, systems from Elgato (and lots of others for USB connectivity to the computer), Blackmagic Design (Intensity Shuttle for Thunderbolt connectivity) and Thomson/Grass Valley/Canopus (for firewire connectivity) among many other manufacturers can be used.
Hi, I know nothing about camcorders. What I'd like to do is record video game footage off of my tv, and I know I'll need a splitter cable and all that, but I can't figure out what camcorders support direct video input. Here's a couple I was looking at:

Can anyone tell me if they support video input? And if so, what am I looking for in the description that I'm missing.
