First off, Win7 doesn't need SATA drivers. That's only XP and older, so you can forget that as outdated info.
Second, did you ever partition the drive?
Third, Windows will not install onto external/removable devices by design. If you are attempting something like that, then you may as well give up now.
I've never actually posted on this site, but i've been having so much trouble installing windows 7 on this thing that it's driving me crazy.
Windows 7 installation does no see a hard drive present, when installing. When i try to load the chipset drivers or the SATA card drivers windows says that there are no drivers present even though i've downloaded them from emachines site. I changed the Sata setting in BIOS and still nothing. It doesn't even allow me to choose a USB flash drive as an installation drive. It does however allow me to access the hard drive when i want to load the chipset drivers. Any help would be appreciated.
