Trouble deciding/finding whats right.

I've been looking into picking up a camcorder for a bit now. Initially the flip genre seemed interesting, particularly the Kodak Zx1. Im pretty new to the camcorder field though, and after looking into other options I got a little overwhelmed. Currently Im torn between the Kodak or the Canon Powershot SD780 in order to get good pictures as well as video. Mostly im looking for video on the go outside, with some inside shots, generally without a tripod (up to $300). Info on the Canon or the Kodak would be great, or if anyone has any suggestions/advice all would be appreciated. Thanks and sorry for the long post
