Question

Trouble copying CD's into PC

Aug 21, 2011 9:35AM PDT

I'm trying to copy audio CD's (a seminar) into my PC.

When I play the copied files through the PC, it plays songs instead. I think these songs are coming from music I have previously copies into ITunes.

This is a new problem I haven't had before. Any ideas?

Audio as in music CDs??

If so, those are done in the CD players hardware and not some audio codec on the PC. What you do with audio CDs is "rip" them. Essentially, this is a means of reading the tracks and recording them in some format supported by various audio codecs.

If you have the CD ...

why not just play it rather than copying the files?

Another route you might go is to create a virtual CD ROM with something like MagicDisk:

Those would be your best options because if you are hearing something that is not on the Cd then it is likely you aren't playing the cd files but some other playlist you have saved.

Recording CDS (aka ripping)

Hello,

First, I think you are probably burning a previous playlist.

To rip a CD to audio on your computer the simplest way for an amature user is either via Windows Media Player, or, if you're on a MAC NERO.or PowerISO

However, I strongly believe you arent ripping the files correctly. Search CNET downloads for CD RIPPING for your OS platform.
