Trouble between my Sony 52 KDL-XBR7 and my DELL Dimensi E520

Hello members

Trying to connect my PC with my my LCD tv but sparks come out when using the VGA cable or HDMI.

The sparks come when contact is made on the vga cable female when connecting either first the TV or PC with the VGA to either component.

Anyone know about this compatability problem?

Appreciate any info regarding this issue.

Never connect anything when "live".

It's a good idea always have the devices turned off first.

Tried that way and no good came out of it.

If everything is hooked to the UPS and the TV is turned off and PC does that mean that it is not live?

Any other ideas or suggestions or related experiences are welcome.
