Trouble accessing the site.

Mar 14, 2004 4:07PM PST

Anyone having trouble accessing the Virus and security page? For the last week the graphics and heading are slow to appear and then it can take as long as 5 minutes for the messages to show. It is the same for all the Cnet pages.

Am I the only one with this problem and anyone any idea why this should happen as it doesn't happen with other sites.

PS I am in New Zealand, but that shouldn't make a difference??

This has been going on for about a week now. Very frustrating and difficult to get around. I think being in New Zealand has no effect on this. I spent at least five minutes this morning just getting the Virus and Security Alerts page to open and it is a repeat every time a new forum is selected.

Becoming to wonder if anything is being done to address this.

Sad Sad

I thought I was just having to put up with my old Compaq, W98SE, IE6.0 and Earthlink ISP but you all have answered a question I had. I have for about 11/2 weeks been experiencing the same slow or no response to CNET and COU pages (and still am). I am in Nrn California.

Same here, but just on the Virus site. Newbies loads O.K.

You can go and put the kettle on while you wait for V&S to load. Happy (Dial-up. Win98SE)

The good news is it will come up if I just wait.

I'm also having the same problem with slow access to CNET's Virus and Security website. I thought it was my modem phone connection and the fact that I live out in the "country". Today, though, the links within the Forum are downloading pages much quicker than yesterday's snail pace. Happy
