Tried to use TechTracker to Get Latest Flash

Feb 8, 2011 1:58PM PST

Hello-
I see there is a new Flash update. I remember last time I tried to update to the latest version and really messed things up. Does anybody want to help me with the procedure fro updating to the latest Flash version? Don't I need to remove the current version and then update?

Also, I need to uninstall TechTracker. I thought I did it but it is back. anybody know the "complete way to remove TechTracker?

Thanks

just download the latest version and install it.
Accept all the defaults, except anything that mentions a toolbar.

Pick up the TechTracker app and put it in the trash.
Empty the trash

why do you say that

this is exactly what got me in a mess last update. You have to uninstall the current version and then linstall the new version. there are specific directions on how to uninstall the version that is on the Mac by the Flash Uninstaller. Why don't all people have t follow these same instructions?

check this link out. I found which one I had to use the last update. You fill in the circles (lol) what you want to do and follow how to get the current verrsion off you computer. Then you install the current new version.

what you told me to do last update totally messed up my MacBook and man it was a mess.

I should have known.

no you don't put it in the trash. i am looking for the complete and right way to do stuff. You should not say this stuff man if you have no idea what you are talking about.
for the Flash it is NOT a matter of just installing it

look at this link if you care to give people the right instructions.

As far as removing the TechTracker, there also is a right way to do it and I have not found that out yet. there is an uninstaller. Your computer must be a mess. If you read my Post I did not want somebody to just tell me to put it in the trash because that is NOT how you remove TechTracker.

Before you go off on a borderline offensive rant,

your link shows how to uninstall Adobe Flash, not how to upgrade it.
It is also in a section of the Adobe site that deals with Troubleshooting Flash Player problems.
I fail to see where you stated that you were having a problem with Flash Player but I did see where you said you wanted to update it.

At the risk of saying, "here's your sign" , if there is an uninstaller for Techtracker, use it!
If you already know the answer, why ask the question?

The state of my computer is not really any concern of yours but, it has the latest version of Flash installed (although it is never used) and I have never uninstalled the old copy before installing the new one.

It may surprise you to know that the Adobe installer will remove old versions of files that it no longer needs and will replace them with the new ones.

You do what you need to do

You do what you need to do and let me do what I need to do. You gave me totally incorrect instructions to install Flash. Before you act like you know what you are doing make sure you do. I gave you the link to show you there are links to uninstall FIRST Flash and then to INSTALL it by a link.

I have been through updating Flash the way you say to do it and it ruins the computer. It is not the way to do it and if you have an issue with the right way, talk to Adobe.

Ask Adobe to teach you before you continue to give out inaccurate information.

good Luck
