Some find that some set top players do that.

Try playing the DVD on a PC first.

-> Your post is so light on details that I'll have to wait for more.

I do have a sony hc42 mini dv camcorder and a laptop from dell....I use dvd-santa to burn my dvd which is now in vain....I'm trying to buy "Ahead Software Nero 6 Ultra Edition" , will that software be helpful in burning my videos in DVD...

Still very light on your "process."

Let me share my successful process.

1. Connect the Mini-DV camcorder to the PC with FIREWIRE.
2. Use WINDV (google.com) to capture the video.
3. Use VIRTUAL DUB to cut up the video or trim it to the pieces I want.
4. Use DVDSANTA to make the DVD. Hint: I don't fiddle with its settings.

Works here.

-> ABOUT YOUR SET TOP DVD PLAYER. It's well known that many will have nothing to do with recorded DVDs. Sony DVD players were well known to have this issue, but do try DVD-R or DVD+R to see which might work.

Bob

That's not how I work.

You tell me the details of what you did. I shared how I make my DVDs so it's your turn.

For instance, your posts are silent on how you got the video from the camcorder. If it's USB, then I can only wish you the best of luck and ask you try it the way I found to work.

I downloaded my videos using firewire
Dec 7, 2005 8:57AM PST

I download my videos using firewire using the given software "picture package"..coz when i tried to use other software for downloading, the picture quality was not good enough compared to picture package...And while downloading the videos, i directly omit the unwanted scenes and then download the videos to my hard disk..And the i tried to burn the movies...Is that procedure a wrong one...

Bingo.

I've not had any luck with picture package either. I noted a free tool to get some workable video files from the camcorder.

Best of luck,

Bob

I could'nt understand
Dec 7, 2005 9:30PM PST

I'm unable to understand ur words...Is there any other solution to write the videos...Yesterday i tried Ulead software, i found that the video is splitted into parts and then written in the dvd and the video quality is comparitively slow than the actual video....I'm totally upset in writing them to a DVD or CD...

I can't understand either.

I supplied the method I use, with free capture software and yet you try anything but.

Very strange.

Why not make this a warranty issue with the camcorder supplier if you can't follow my lead?
