I have a new Dell Dimension E521, running WinXP, and my old drive that I externalized is a Western Digital that was in my old HP Pavilion PC. I bought the kit to externalize the drive, had no problems after first connecting everything; then all of a sudden it wasn't there in My Computer. I am not sure what disk management is, but I tried testdisk, and the rest is history.
I downloaded and ran TEstdisk 6.5 as suggested on a previous post for external hard drive not being recognized. I'm not sure what I did - the drive is there now, but there are just a bunch of folders that I can't open: they are named BAT, BIN, IMG, SRC1, SRC2, SRC3,SRC4, AND SRC5. Please advise as to what may have happened and how I can correct it. This drive has so much important stuff on it!
Thanks!!
