I've lost count of memory clocking issues. As such here's the drill.
1. Update to the latest BIOS.
2. Try again.
3. Try XMP.
4. Post the issue in the motherboard maker's motherboard support forum.
5. If still non-functional, RMA that board and try a Ryzen board they use at PCMR.
So just a week ago I purchased 16gb (2x8 @3000mhz) of G. Skills TridentZ RGB ram as an upgrade from my 8gb kit. However, as the week went on I noticed that my ram was defaulting to 2133mhz instead of the 3000mhz promised. I checked my bios and although I had it set the speeds to go to 3000, the ram still continued to say at 2133. I then tried to use Ryzen Master to fix the ram, but every time I reset the computer to apply my change, 2133. I've probably tried this over 20 times by now, and I've tried changing things but I just can't change the speeds. I don't understand why it isn't working because previously I was able to overclock my 8gb kit from 2400 to 2800 using Ryzen Master and BIOS. But with my new ram it won't even default to 3000. Maybe my ram sticks are faulty? I have no clue, please help me.
