Trekstor Vibez volume/reset

Hi, this is my first post in this forum.

I just purchased a TrekStor Vibez 12gig. The volume seems really low - it's perfectly fine with my in-ear earphones, but too low when I was walking outside with old cheap foam headphones. (I don't like using earbuds.) The volume would only go up to 30. Is this the maximum volume?

I had a small problem with the scrollwheel and okay button when I first tried it - I accidentally set the language button to German and then hit a bunch of buttons to try to get it back to English. Did I screw up that maximum noise level for France thing? I tried to reset it, but I don't know if I hit the reset button correctly. It didn't look like it did anything. If this is the problem, how do I start over?

Thanks for any assistance,
Rhea

Factory Reset

In reply to: Trekstor Vibez volume/reset

Hi Rhea,

It does look as though you've somehow ended up with a 'French volume' limitation on your Vibez.

Since you're willing to reset it (but not knowing the routine you've already tried) have a look at the following two reviews on Amazon. See if they help.

12G Vibez - http://www.amazon.com/TrekStor-vibez-Player-Black-Silver/dp/B000KDZR5U/ref=pd_rhf_f_t_cs_3/002-8512208-6709621

8G Vibez - http://www.amazon.com/TrekStor-vibez-Player-Black-Silver/dp/B000K43LV6

In both cases the text is quite lengthy so search for 'France' on each internet page to get to the bit that's relevant to you.

Hope it works,

Thanks for the links! I read through the Amazon reviews for the 12gig Trekstor looking for information, but I didn't think to look at the 8gig. Duh.

If anyone else needs to know how to reset/reformat the Trekstor, pressing the "reset" button on the side didn't do anything for me. What worked was going to Features -> Maintenance -> Factory Defaults and setting "restore" from there. When I powered it up again, I was able to answer the France question! Thankfully, I did not have much loaded onto mine yet. I tested it out, and it is definitely louder than before.
