Travellin' Man!

Hi, All.

We Moderators don't usually announce absences in advance, because experience has shown doing so can sometimes make things worse for those of us left behind. But given some rather unusual posts today, my pre-planned absence Friday through Sunday would probably lead to all sorts of speculation. There's a "Festschrift" Symposium in honor of my former postdoctoral mentor in Boston on Saturday, so I'll be getting up way early tommorrow, snoffling breakfast, flying to Boston, spending all day Saturday at the Symposium and dinner, and then reversing the travel on Sunday. The schedule is so tight that it's not worth risking my laptop at the airport (#1 site of laptop theft, you know!), so unless I borrow a computer to log in someplace, I'll be offline from later tonight through Sunday night. Y'all be good for the rest of the Mods now, y'heah?!

Hi, KP.

I love Boston myself -- spent 10 happy years there (BC and MIT) and K is a Bostonian. Won't see much of it this trip though -- driving in from Providence, and will spend most of my time at Harard Medical School (even the dinner is being catered at a large dining room there!)

Opps, Opportunity missed..........

In reply to: Re: Travellin' Man!

Have a (step)son (since he was six years old) on the
Core Faculty of the School of Dental Medicine at Harvard,
as well as in private practice.

He'll be in Dallas this weekend to attend a wedding. Otherwise,
might have been able to convince him to extend some
hospitality. Happy

Hi, Del.

Thanks for the thought, but I won't even have time to visit the in-laws (with whom I get on very well, contrary to the stereotypes).

Enjoy, Dave!

Driving in from Providence? Is the traffic around Logan that farbled up these days, or is getting to Cambridge that way that much easier? Memory fails me here...

Have a great time. Sounds like your schedule is going to be full enough without having to worry about SE as well. Enjoy the break.
