I am going to be traveling to Alaska and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about a camera to buy. I currently have a Kodak 3 meg, but am looking for something with a good zoom and picture quality. Looking forward to taking great shots of the glaciers

Camera To Buy

Right now, I can think of about 40 cameras that would fit your need.

To bring than number down a bit, it would be helpful to know a few things:

1. What is the price range you are interested in?

2. What does "good zoom" mean to you?
....4X, 6X, 10X, 12X ?

3. Do you have a preference for number of megapixels?

That will narrow down the list:

Nikon 8800
Nikon S4
Olympus SP500
Panasonic FZ30
