Trasnfering Outlook Express mails to Outlook 2003

Sep 5, 2004 11:06AM PDT

I took the stored copy of all my emails in to a file from the Outlook Express(.pst) by using the File -> export.

I bought a new copy of Office Outlook 2003 and I want to get all my mails which are stored from my outlook express to outlook 2003. But there is no option in Outlook 2003 to import. Could some one pls help me out with this.

Thanks

If I had put them into Outlook Express before installing Outlook, I find Outlook will just import the emails...

Outlook Express doesn't use pst's (that Outlook). Outlook Express uses dbx's. And Outlook Express has an option to export to Outlook, if that program is installed.

Sanagapalli,

You are on the right track. You've exported to a .pst file. Now, in Outlook 2003, go to the file menu and choose "Open" and from the submenu that pops up, "Outlook Data File". You'll get the open file dialogue box which will show you only .pst files. Navigate to where you saved your file, choose it, and it will open as a new folder inside Outlook!
