If she'd married the sort of man

she'd want to be the father of her children, she'd not have had this problem other than by a rape.

So she sued because she was expecting a German and

got a Kenyan. There have been a lot of male/female couples that had the same outcome and also were up in arms and sued. Does this make them bad parents as well?

She admits that she was raised a bigot. Of course, there are a lot of them out there. So the child is taken away and where are they going to find a straight couple that is willing to take a mixed race child in that culture?

I think she's adorable BTW.

What is money from a lawsuit going to do
Sep 18, 2015 2:53PM PDT

to help the little girl? Yes, she's adorable. Do you think their neighborhood is full of bigots and will negatively affect this child? After all, they don't seem bigoted enough to reject the same sex couple. Something in the reported argument makes no sense to me so I'm questioning their real motive. Frankly, if this child was put up for adoption because these women didn't want her, my guess is they'd have a long parade of potential adoptive parents clamoring to take her and love her. At this point, however, I'd be reluctant to put the child through that trauma. These women need to buck up, do their best for her, and try to come out of this as better themselves.

I think it should be the responsibility....

....of the sperm bank to find a proper home for the child, and to make good on their promise to the woman, so long as it's legal. When you don't get what was advertised and paid for, that's FRAUD. Why should a sperm bank not be subject to laws against fraud?

- Collapse -
why are you opposed to her...
Sep 18, 2015 9:11PM PDT

....getting what she paid for? Because she's a Lesbian? Even I feel she had at least the right to get what she paid for. If we are going to be in the "baby buying market" then one should get the "product" they ordered and not some other product.

Then treat the error like any other defective merchandise
Sep 19, 2015 2:49AM PDT

Offer to take her back and replace her with a model that meets their expectations. Let the sperm bank assume all medical costs up until the child was born and found to be not cosmetically perfect. Failure to notify the sperm bank and seek resolution immediately upon discovery of the product defect absolves the business of any financial loss incurred once accepted and implemented.

Or, if we need a more biblical solution, consult the "wise king" who got in the middle of an ownership dispute. Perhaps a sword in the right places might extract the 1/2 of the child that the women don't want. Sickening when these things happen and innocents are involved.

So you NOW admit "they" are "born that way"?

Nobody said the child born to the lesbian was a lesbian.

It should be more than a negligence claim
Sep 9, 2015 6:37AM PDT

If you went and paid a car dealer for a BMW and you were delivered a VW, was that "negligence"? They'd be obligated to take back the VW and provide the BMW instead. Why not hold these "sperm banks" to the same standards and require them to become legally responsible for all costs related to their mistake, which resulted in an alternate product or result than what had been ordered? Maybe if the sperm banks had to pay the actual full cost for their mistakes, we could see an end to them. So long as men exist capable of sexually providing sperm to produce babies, there is absolutely no need for "sperm banks" to exist, except in the most limited sense and ONLY be allowed to provide services between a husband and wife. Furthermore all sperm bank records must become public, if for no other reason, so siblings, even half siblings, don't end up marrying each other. It's in society's best interest to make this openess happen.

do not presume

because you are wrong.

"My niece and her wife got a baby via a sperm bank also. They were happy and so was the whole family. And I think that even you would be a proud Grandpa if your daughter had done the same."

Why would I be happy the error of such an arrangement was compounded by adding a child into it, and that child not knowing it's own father? Why would I object to those who engage in one form of illegitimate birth and not to "sperm bank" conception of lesbians? Maybe that sperm came from Brazil? Ever see the movie "The Boys From Brazil", a Jewish person's nightmare?

No, I would not be proud my daughter had done the same. I would be ashamed, of her.

No, I would not be proud my daughter had done the same. I would be ashamed, of her.

AND

sins of the parents are not inherited by the child

IF/WHEN you expressed your feelings SHE would be ashamed of you.

THEN what?

No more communication between you and her/and the child?

HOW do you show the love you claim for the child by being ashamed of the parent?

Will the child pick up on the animosity, or are you going to keep your emotions to yourself?

Why bother being ashamed of her UNLESS others are going to know how you feel?

"Hello...This is my daughter and her child born out of wedlock?"

How would you handle this...

The parent of your grandchild withholding contact with you because of your attitude about how the child got on planet earth?

Disown YOUR child?

Hmm, how does God feel about it?

Also;

Honor your father and your mother, for this is the first commandment with promise - book of Ephesians.

Matthew 15:3

...he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

The obligation is to the daughter. Mine know that.

Obligation?

You'll stand by her and keep your opinion to yourself?

You'll stand by her and voice your opinion ?

You'll stand by her and voice your opinion regularly ?

So, whatever YOUR daughter chooses...is OK with you?

Does what you daughter does have to be ok with me?

If so.....Why?

If not?....See where I'm going?

UNLESS you are directly involved in the situation...your opinion means nothing.

Sep 13, 2015 5:11AM PDT

find out if this person can be or even SHOULD be considered to be a 'refugee' with 'stay in the USA' status even though he is a convicted felon and was already deported once and returned illegally a second time. Time for "Kate's Law" to be applied and give him five years for this.....or at least deported again or jailed for breaking probation on his felony conviction.

If an alien commits a felony, it seems like he or she did it and realized the consequences which is deportation. If she was worried about going back to Mexico, she thought of that before she drove drunk.
