Transferring software to a new computer

Oct 25, 2011 11:43PM PDT

I am getting a new computer in the next few days. I currently have software that I have purchased on-line such as AVG, PC Cleaner, and Malwarebytes. How can I transfer these products to my new computer, or do I have to purchase again?

Since you need to activate Office, it is much easier to uninstall from the old PC and reinstall to the new one using the Office CD.

Answer
Can't transfer but must reinstall

If you paid for these, you should either have a disk or downloaded a file. You'd need to use those again. As for copyright and licensing, you'd check with the developer for each piece of that software. Generally, as long as that version is compatible with the OS you are using, you should be ok as long as only one instance of each installation exists.

maybe just a download

While it depends on the particular software, you probably can just download them again. Check with the companies you've bought from. You might have to contact them, or you might just use the same activation code.
