Typically drag and drop or right click, send to the location. You didn't say what you are using for an OS but drag and drop is what many do with most OS's.

Thank you but I am using Vista and I tried dragging the document from documents to pictures but it doesn't drop. Forgive my ignorance but could you be a little more specific. I am not very adept at this. Thank you again.
If it's a hard copy document, then you'll need a scanner to scan the picture, from which you can save the scanned file to any folder of your choice.
But if the document is a computer file, such as a Word document, then simply RIGHT click on the picture, choose "Save Picture As", then designate the file type you choose for the picture (usually .jpg), then designate the folder of your choice.
Hope this helps.

I right click on the pic but none of the options say "save as". Can you be a bit more specific? am not very comp literate. Thanks again.
is in the document (such as a Word Document) when you right click on it you should see Cut, Copy, Format, Edit and a few other options.
Select COPY which copies the image to the clipboard.
Now open an application that can handle images such as Microsoft Paint (or IrfanView which is free at http://www.irfanview.com ) and once the application is open right click within its Window and now select PASTE.
Now you can save the graphic anywhere you want to and name it whatever you desire.
