A .rtf file (rich text format) is a word processor document file.
I assume you are not using a program to download the images from the camera.
That you are dragging and dropping the files from the camera.
And somehow the photo files are being changed to .rtf files.
That sounds more like a MAC operating system problem.
Since I do not know much about a MAC, hopefully others can help.

I have recently purchased a Samsung S860 digital camera. Whenever I try and transfer a picture taken on the camera it converts the picture from a jpeg to an rtf file. Whenever I try and open the file it has nothing on it and I cannot open it using Paint shop pro or transfer the file using graphic convertor as it says that it is corrupt.
I am connecting through the usb cable direct from the camera to the Mac. The operating sytem I am using is OS X 10.4.
If anyone has a way to be able to help with this problem it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
