Transferring files after adding slave drive.

May 17, 2004 11:01AM PDT

I recently installed a slave drive and wish to keep my "C" (Master) drive for the OS and program files only. It's only 20G! The slave is 40G and I want to transfer the "My Documents" file to drive "D", the slave. I have thousands of music files archived on CD-Rs and would like to seperate them from my "C" drive when I copy them back as "C" was too full. Help please?

All you have to do is Right-click My Documents folder on the Desktop | Properties | click Move | browse to your D Drive and all your documents will be moved to the D Drive.

David Chan, thanks. So easy and it works. Now I got to copy some CDs!

Just a suggestion...

...but why don't you clone the 20GB drive onto the 40, and use the big one for the OS. Then you could wipe the 20 and use it for storage. Unless you have an amazing amount of files to store on the slave drive.
