Transferring Cingular Phone book to Verizon phone book

Jan 23, 2006 10:46PM PST

I am considering switching phone service from Cingular to Verizon, however trying to determine if I can download or transfer the Cingular phone book to a Verizon phone is proving to be difficult. My Cingular phone is a Blue Tooth PHO MOTV551 ENS BLU GSM N. I have not chosen a Verizon phone yet.

Help with transferring phonebook to verizon phone
Jan 24, 2006 12:31AM PST

Sorry but this can not be done(dont thinks so anyway) Phonebooks from v551 can only be transferred from one phone to another by transferring all phone numbers from inside the cellphone onto the SIM card. And Verizon phones are CDMA not GSM, and they do not have SIM cards. Even if they did the only way to use another companys SIM card in another companys phone is if they are the same technology and if the phone is unlocked. Cingular uses the GSM technology which and be used world wide, because the is the universal technology. CDMA is rarely used any where else in the world beside the US and is mostly only used by Verizon. I would contact Motorola. They would be the only one who would know.

I too will be changing cellular service as long as it?s on the computer I don?t think it should be a big deal. I may have to new software and or a cable for the new phone...
