Converting to MP3
by John.Wilkinson / June 19, 2005 8:16 AM PDT

I recommend Easy CD-DA Extractor from Poikosoft. It's small at 6MB, easy-to-use, and supports multiple formats, including wma and wav. Just drag the My Music folder to the file list from the built-in file explorer, select the output type and quality, and press convert. Best takes less than 10 seconds to convert a 3 minute song, including the track information! Mind you, it's just a 30-day trial version, but it's the best program I've found.

Hope this helps,

Did that work for wma files too? I'm thinking of buying an ipod but I have a bunch of wma files purchased from walmart - and I understand they won't play on an ipod...I want to know if there's any way I can convert them to mp3.

if that didn't work with you, you can try this link

i use it to convert music into mp3 and download it to my ipod. so go ahead and get the ipod; i was a little hesitant b4 getting the ipod b/c everything i have was in other format. the only thing is that it's a trial version and the trial period ends after 30 days.
good luck

Try aumpel for non-DRM WMA to MP3 conversion

It will convert WMA as long as there is no DRM. It's pretty easy to use, and faster than iTunes at converting MP3, from my experience.
