Is there any way to transfer AOL files (email files) to a new computer from AOL 8.0?

Jaaron,

The standard answer to AOL related problems on this forum seems to be: look at the FAQ pages at aol.com or contact AOL customer support.

For email, unless you saved them to your local computer, ALL your email should be there (under the same screen name ) on the new computer. If you talking about favorites and address book, I believe they follow your screen name

I suggest you email AOL. go to keyword Help and follow the directions. I have had good luck generally, getting assistance this way. Go and look in the Organize folder, be careful not to mess around but it is enlightening what you can read. Good Luck..

Your mail, favorites and address book are stored on the server. You will be able to access them once you set up your account on your new computer. But be advised, your e-mail is only kept for a period of time or amount. If you have old mail downloaded to a folder within the AOL program, you will need to save that.

To find the files your looking for, go to your current running AOL on your C drive (or what ever your main HD is), double click on it & find "ORGANIZE", double click on it. All the files with your screen name ONLY will be files you want to save. No .'s after your screen name, no nothing, JUST YOUR SCREEN NAME.
