Transfering Files between Vista and XP

by personofthefurby / April 20, 2007 11:11 AM PDT

Ok, so I recently made my laptop a dual boot with Windows Vista and Windows XP. When the laptop is running in XP, I can transfer files between the laptop and my desktop (which is running XP Professional SP2). When I try to access my desktop, it gives the following message:

"\\(my desktop) is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

Access is denied."

There is also my dads computer which is running Windows 95, that I can access. Any suggestions how to get my laptop/desktop to fie share?

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
