it's nontrivial. there are many, many things to be copied besides just the documents. if you installed any applications on your old computer that you want on the new one, you will have to reinstall them. there are programs out there that claim to figure these things out for you and do it automatically, but i haven't ever tried one to know if they are any good. i just know that people who write applications frequently don't follow the rules all the time, and anything that doens't follow the rules won't get found and copied. the programs that do the copying generally require that you connect the two computers together somehow, usually on a network. it's a big job and you probably want to have an expert friend sit with you and help you through it.
