is standard definition video only. It cannot record High Definition video.
Link to the "a" suffix manual:

Page 69 (Specifications): Recording format: "Digital Video SD format". Below that refers to 525i... basically, 525 interlaced horizontal rows of standard definition video. Page 42 describes "ASPECT CONV" which can get you to 16:9 aspect ratio, but there is no increase in horizontal line count.

Same as above, but on page 85. Page 34 can get you to 16:9, but again, no increase in horizontal line resolution.
"High Quality" is not "High Definition".
As I recall, the AG-HVX200 is the high definition (DVCPro HD format) "sibling" to the standard definition DVX100.
The "e" suffix you provided tells me you are using the PAL variant - but that still does not change the horizontal line count.
Sorry.
Hi,
I know this maybe a stupid question but I have Panasonic ag-dvx100be mini dv camcorder and I am trying to transfer video footage from mini dv tape to PC in high quality (HD) for editing. I am using fire wire cable to transfer data but output file resolution is not HD, it is something like 720x576. My question is ? is it possible to transfer footage from my camera to editable video file in high quality (HD) 1280x720 or 1920x1080 and if possible ? HOW?
Thank you
