I should have mentioned that I run Windows 7 and use Microsoft Word 2010. There is software called "Hot Docs" that accomplishes a similar objective, but it has way more than I need and is a very expensive subscription based software. I'm working with one specific contract that needs to be modified each time.
My line of work requires me to customize a lot of legal documents from a preexisting form. This involves going through the existing Word document to add the new names, addresses, etc., and to select from a few standard provisions There must be an easier way. I want to write a program that will allow me to input some information (names, addresses, etc), and will allow me to click check boxes to indicate which provisions I want to use, and will ultimately put all the information together and paste it into Word. Years ago I took a couple courses on Visual Basic, and that might be an option here. But I know there are tons of options, and I don't know enough about which one is most appropriate here. Rather than spinning my wheels, I was hoping someone could recommend a way to go about all this (e.g., a suggested program or language, etc). Thanks so much for your time and assistance ... once in place, this is going to save me an hour or so every workday.
