Question

Touchpad problem

Feb 24, 2018 8:22AM PST

Touchpad on my laptop it sometimes doesn’t work. When I restart my computer it works but when I shutdown and reopen it still doesn’t work so I have to restart it again. I tried to update driver and make sure that I didn’t press button disable touchpad but I still doesn’t work. Is it the problem software or hardware? And what should I do?

Call it in, be ready to do a factory reset. That is, they usually wipe your data anyway.

As to story, what was installed that was not stock?
Did you try unplugging all USB devices and test again?

There are 2 questions.

1. What's not stock?

Some folk get a laptop and immediately install "stuff." Avoid that until you know the machine is good.

2. About USB things. I don't know what you have but unplug the usual USB hard drives, memory sticks, printers, mice or keyboards. We don't want to press out luck here yet.

I don’t use any USB connector. I think I should reset my pc maybe it can help me.

Why not?

If it can't reset it's in warranty and their problem.
