Resolved Question

Touch Screen Or Not?

Feb 5, 2014 10:58PM PST

Once XP is gone I will not be using this computer anymore.

1. Is a touch screen required for the 8.1update? I Have a Windows 7 Laptop that I am thinking of upgrading.

2.The same question applies to the fact that I am considering the purchase of another computer for a family memember who likes Desktops. Again is touch screen really required?

3. Is the start menue issue resolved yet with the 8.1update?

Thank You.

No, it is not required. Personally I'd leave the system(L/T) at Win 7, especially if you plan on getting a new Win 8 system, your choice.

THANKS. I missed that detail. Stand still. Don't move.

I agree. Just like changing a laptop from 8 to 7, 7 to 8 is suffering the same issues. Might require BIOS and driver updates which are either non-existent or too hard on the owner.

2. No. But can be handy.
3. Yes. If you don't like Microsoft's solution, go get Classic Shell (it's free.)
