touch as a portable gaming system: hot console titles!

by beaconseries / December 13, 2008 10:07 AM PST

I consider my touch to be an incredibly valid portable gaming device. Now, most people have the argument that games on the touch are just "time wasters". And, yes, they can be. But they also can be much more than that too! I mean, just tonight, I went out to dinner and spotted several people in numerous areas playing a game on their iPhone/touch. Some were playing online tap tap, Super Monkey Ball, some people were showing off their sweet moves in touch grind. This made me think... There's something in the air, and this is not a time waster. Not at all! This is a valid portable gaming device.

So, here, I have put together a list of what I think are hot "console" titles for the touch. These are not good games that are time wasters. These are good games that you actually buy, sit, and play for a long time. Something you'd find on a PSP or a Nintendo DS. Now, before I start I must point out that I am not being bias. I have owned all of these systems. I sold my PSP and still currently have my DS and touch. So... With out further interruption, here is my list of "console" titles so far for the touch.

Super Monkey Ball

The Tap Tap Series

de Blob

Brain Challenge

Crash Cart

Asphalt 4

Brothers in Arms

Hero of Sparta

The Sims 3

Need For Speed

Did I forget something? Please tell and I will add it! Just please, don't say Cube... Its just not good enough. Its a port, and a demonstration. I will also be updating this list over time! Thanks!
