We also don't need a CD/DVD drive so remove that too.
Tell me what voltage you read on the CMOS battery (see youtubes if you don't find it) or just put in a new battery.
Hi, my friend gave me her old laptop to take a look at and see if I can revive it.
The problem: when switched on the screen displays nothing (at all) however the power and charging lights come on and the CD tray can be opened and closed
What I've done so far: removed hard drives (they work in my PC), reinstalled windows (using my PC), removed RAM, used a HDMI cable (still no display)
Past experience tells me its the motherboard to blame, but I'm unsure with the disc drive working still and was wanting a second opinion from someone who knows what they're talking about a bit more haha
