Toshiba Satellite M30 - Unable to boot from USB drives -help

by Insaf_Mohd / May 11, 2012 11:19 PM PDT

Hello All,

I am new to Toshiba forums, so greetings!

I have this weird issue for almost an year now that, my Satellite M30 notebook (little old though) is not able to boot from any USB drives such as bootable OS disk, app disk (like Acrosnis True Image ), USB external CD/DVD drives - NOTHING! I change the boot order, or use F12 and hit 'Removable Devices' but the system quick skips and return to my Windows. My internal CD drive is out of order and my only resort is USB boot for a system rescue!

Here is my system information if that helps,

I have to take your word that these USB sticks and drives boot fine elsewhere. If so, Tosh needs to fix this.

I think I'm reading you know about setting the boot item and more. There was this one member that left out a detail such as the USB HUB they had inbetween and another didn't reveal they had a printer plugged in. Details matter but given what you've told, it's time to call Tosh support.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
