Toshiba Satellite hates me!

by sportsstud35 / August 20, 2010 2:41 AM PDT

Okay so heres the situation, Taking my girlfriend to college, we get here and go to use her laptop, we're watching friends dvd and in the 2nd episode(so maybe 35-35 min in) it locks up. I hit the power button as nothing else works, and get a white screen right before it shuts down. I go to turn it on and it turns on but nothing on the screenm the 2nd from the right light(i think its the hdd) blinks but then does not come on. So i power cycle it and it boots, stays on maybe 5 min, locks up again. So I live it for this morning, again desn't boot at all. I finally got it to boot to windows after about an hour of turning it on then off. and it locks up again. All the time, when the hdd light isn't working its not showing anything on the screen.

Her specs are toshiba satelliteA-135-s4557, running vista home prem, 32 bit.

It worked like a charm for months before, rode up here 6 hours on the front seat under a pillow(tured off)
any ideas? are we in for a new pc?

As I write this im on the computer going on 20 min right now running a virus scan with windows anti virus.

So I forgot to metion, this morning I got the Blue Screen of Death(only 1 time so far in this eppisode) so i restarted per the BSOD instructions, and it wouldn't turn on.

Also when this all started, I think it got to hot, as It was sitting ontop of a plastic bin(we're moving and it looked to work) and now i have it plugged into a chill mat,

I also ran a restore once when it let me get to windows, and it seemed to work somewhat, As after I was able to go a good 20 min before it locked up. I would do a full restore to factory but we don't have the discs with us at school.

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
