Toshiba Satellite A35-S159 Microphone Jack

On my Toshiba laptop the microphone jack does not appear to work. How do I go about repairing the jack? Alternately is there any way to test the jack? Also is there a work around so that I can connect a microphone to the laptop. Any help would be appreciated Thank you

Did you check in control panel to see if it is enabled? If so and it still doesn't work, preferably use a USB headset something like Logitech clear chat.
