My built-in accu-point mouse has stopped working - how can I fix it?

I'd use an external mouse since I've found repair to exceed the costs most will pay...

In some cases the driver for the Touchpad or pointing stick and become corrupted, etc. Try downloading the most current driver if available for the mouse/pointing device from your manufacturer's website if available (Toshiba). If not, you might be able to find driver's from the manufacturer website for the device (you can for Synaptics touchpads).

If the driver appears to be listed and it is still not working you can try deleting it and reinstalling the most recent driver you can find.

Or, as Bob says, if it is a hardware failure issue it is easier to use an external mouse.
