TOSHIBA SAT PRO A300-1PW. LOW ON RESOURCES?

MY SATELITE PRO LAPTOP SHOWED AN ERROR MESSAGE "LOW ON RESOURCES, LOG ONTO ANOTHER USER ACCOUNT". BUT AT THE SAME TIME THE POINTER DISAPPEARED FROM THE SCREEN SO I COULD'NT DO ANYTHING BUT SWITCH OFF, THEN IT WOULD'NT START AGAIN UNTIL I REMOVED AND REPLACED THE BATTERY (WHICH IS ALWAYS KEPT FULLY CHARGED)I WAS USING THE LAPTOP ON MAINS POWER AND VISTA HOME PREMIUM. IT'S WORKING FINE NOW BUT IT'S HAPPENED BEFORE AND I'M SURE IT'LL HAPPEN AGAIN, WHAT ARE THESE "RESOURCES"?

generally programmes which runs automatically upon system startup. The usual suspects are chat programmes like msn/windows live messenger, skype, icq, aim, audio programmes like quicktime/iTunes's bonjour, adobe acrobat reader updater.

Some manufacturers would also have their respective programmes to auto-run due to certain hardware needs (may/may not be necessary) like harddisk drop sensor, audio studio, optical auto-disc detection.

With all these, couple with Vista, if your laptop doesn't not have sufficient memory/ram, it'll start running low on resources.
