Question

Toshiba Portege R835 Fan

Mar 8, 2016 2:59PM PST

So I got a prompt from Toshiba telling me to check my battery because they may need to recall it. After ejecting the battery and checking the serial number, I plugged it back in. Upon turning on the computer, the fan immediately was on high speed. It does not go back to normal speed, and the laptop isn't even overheated. I don't think it is a dust problem, because literally 3 minutes earlier everything was working fine. However I will most likely take it apart and clean it anyways.

Any suggestions as to why my fan is stuck on high speed?
Can I fix it somehow?

Story is incomplete but try this generic reset.
