Thanks for the report jack.
If a camera company will not honor their warranty, they should be in another line of work.
I don't think I would give up so easy in dealing with Toshiba.
It is time to write a letter to Toshiba Customer Relations department. Not an email ... a letter.
Be polite and state your case.
I recently had a problem with APS customer support, about one of their power units. I finally got to the right person and got a replacement (new). The new unit works fine.
...
Inside of 3 years I have had 3 different PDR-3300's
The first camera I must say, I enjoyed and it took decent pictures. However in less than 1 year it just quit working. Toshiba replaced it free of charge with a referbished 3300--which worked ok for about 2 or 3 months, then quit! A third camera was supplied which never was quite staisfactory--pictures were not sharp and crisp. I contacted Toshiba a couple of times and they were unwilling to do anything.
I got so frustrated with the 3300 Toshiba camera that I just went out and purchased a Kodak CX7530--love it!![]()
But guess what I wanted to use the 3300 (since it was ready to go--ha ha) for a few quick pictures--it's now broken-don't ask me why. I am very EZ on my cameras.
Lesson learned - 1: DO NOT BUY A TOSHIBA DIGITAL CAMERA
LESSON LEARNED - 2: If you unfortunately purchased a Toshiba Dig. Camera and it quits, DO NOT ACCEPT A REFURBISHED CAMERA AS A REPLACEMENT INSIST ON RECEIVING A NEW CAMERA!
LESSON LEARNED - 3: BUY A NAME BRAND CAMERA THAT HAS OVER THE YEARS WON EXCELLENT REVIEWS!
