People

I want to buy a notebook, I'll use it for internet access, document and presentation matters, games, router configuration, ans sometimes network administration.

I want you to advise me between these PCs:
- Toshiba Satellite M60, Centrino 2.0 GHz, 1024 DDR II RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon with 128 dedicated RAM, 17" True Brite.
- Toshiba Tecra S2, Intel Centrino 2.0 GHz, 1024 SDRAM, NVidia video card, 15" SXVGA.
- HP DV4000. Centrino 2.0 GHz, 1024 SDRAM,Intel graphics, 15".

Also, If you know a place that sale this machines on line with absoulutely warranty and they could ship to Japan, please tell me.

Regards and thanks for your answer.

Arturo

Warranty is in the country of purchase.

You will not be happy with the warranty. Be sure you read your warranty and understand that if it breaks or you need support, you have to ship it back to the country you purchased it in.

Yes, you can ship it to Japan. Nothing stops you from doing that.

Warranty

Bob

Thanks for your answer. I talked with the people of Toshiba in Japan and in the United States too, they told me that the warranty is not problem, if the PC will have a problem they could solve here in Japan.

Here in Japan they don't sell PCs with OS in english, also the PC with OS in english that they sell here are very old, so that's why I am looking for a PC in USA.

About the warranty of HP in Japan, I don't know so much because they don't have an office here.

In addition of the warranty, wich one of the two Toshiba do you think is suitable for my applications??

Regards

Dennis

Hi,

Personally, I'm a toshiba fan, and I've known a lot of people with problems with HP. I am on my fourth laptop and they have all been toshiba satellites. I think the Tecra would be a solid choice (they are generally very well built). I have a m55 (a smaller version of the m60) and am happy with it. Although I am personally not a fan of TruBrite (too much reflection) but if you don't mind it, then it's good too.

Hope this helps.

Hi

Thanks for your answer, I personally think that Satellite M60 is a little bit better than Tecra series, because this PC has 17" screen, newest DDR2 RAM, true brite, and so on, but I will take your advice in order to make the best decision.

Regards from Japan
