This does not wipe files or do much of anything but reset a controller in the laptop.
And yes, it may not apply but it's something we do as we cover other and all areas to see if a simple thing can bring the machine back.
Remove power, unplug the big main battery, press and hold the power button for 60 seconds.
Release, then slip in the big main battery, apply power and test.
If the charging light is out we get out a Volt meter to see if the charger is working.
Hey all,
I have a Toshiba Satellite P55W-C laptop that's about 2.5 years old. Just ordered and got a new internal battery to replace the old one. I had, while waiting for my new battery to ship and arrive, used my laptop with no battery, just using the power cord plugged in.
So, got the new battery today, installed it without a hitch, then plugged in the power cord. No LED light showing up to acknowledge charging state. Laptop won't turn on at all. I disconnected the new internal battery and attempted to power on my laptop just using the power cord. Still nothing.
I kept the installation area sterile and I don't think any static or foreign particles were introduced while I had the case off. Battery model is identical to the previous one, though provided ZTHY instead of Toshiba. Did I somehow brick my laptop? I took down the part number for the cord from the charging port to the module where the battery also connects, in case replacing that is a potential solution. Any other advice/help would be appreciated.
Also, I have it currently installed and plugged in, just in case my LEDs aren't working. Will try again in 30 minutes or so.
Thanks!
