Toshiba laptop frozen at scan disk

by kcool223 / August 12, 2010 1:05 AM PDT

My toshiba laptop wants to run a scan disk when it starts up. If I let it go to run, it freezes and sits there. If I try to cancel it, it still freezes and sits there. I don't know what to do! Please help.

No OS or age given.

At the top of the forum is a note about laptop cleaning. Not that I can tell if that will help here. The OS, age and model number would be needed to give other ideas such as how to cancel the scan.

It is a toshiba satellite p500, less then a year old. I should have included that but I'm a little frazzled.

At under one year, you shouldn't fix it.

At under one year let's let the warranty deal with this.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
