Unlike desktops there is very little we can do with a laptop. Those that don't call it in to build up a history with the maker usually end up posting in forums they will never buy Dell, Hp, Toshiba, Sony or whichever name they had the issue with.
In closing, if they blocked a vent then a cooling pad may help.
I have a 6 months old Toshiba laptop, Satellite P205D-S7802, VISTA (home premium), AMD Turion 64X2 Dual core mobile technology TL-58.
PROBLEM: The laptop freezes up when I use the wireless internet connection -- it takes about 20-30 minutes to do this. By freeze up, I mean I get a blank screen and the only thing I can do is to shut off and power up again. Ctrl + Alt + Del does not work.
WHAT I HAVE READ HERE: Others in the forums have said this is a Toshiba problem that is related to a particular order of events: the battery must be in, and the wireless connect button must be in the "ON" position while plugging in the laptop to AC power.
QUESTION: Can this be fixed (I could find no fixes in the forum that seems to have worked for more than one poster), and/or what are my chances Best Buy would give me a new laptop or refund? I am very frustrated by this problem because I can never have a smooth and uninterrupted usage of this laptop. Thank you in advance for any guidance.
