And if you do a factory reset there is no known way to use the fingerprint data so I'd say move on.
I have an old Protege Z935 running Windows 10 Home edition.
Due to an issue with a Windows 10 update, I resorted to reset Windows to a fresh start. Everything is running fine except that now it won't let me register my fingerprints because "the fingerprints have already been registered". Toshiba Fingerprint Utility won't enable the "delete all fingerprints" option, similar problem with Microsoft Windows Hello. I reset TPM (in Windows) to no prevail. Even resetting the BIOS doesn't clear it. I'm concerned with ID theft and such if I leave those in the BIOS when I get rid of the laptop. Toshiba refuses to help without getting paid $99 first, but they admitted that they can't guarantee the result because they think it is an "Microsoft Operating System" issue. To me, I think it's a software bug on Toshiba part but they said not so. Any help?
