Toshiba Gigabeat software not installing (help)

I just bought a gigabeat 20 and can't get the gigabeat room software to totally install correctly on my Windows Xp PC. I get the error message "Fail to install (GetClassDevs).........
The software will run, but when I try to tranfer songs or pictures on my Gigabeat I get a windows problem message and it dumps the program. The software works great on my sons computer, so it is not the software.
Does anyone know what (GetClassDevs) means?
